The chart on the left is a small listing of proment Pharmaceutical companies and their twitter microblogs.  While many may scoff at 2000 followers, remember that each follower retweets (reposting what other are saying), comments and directs messages to their followers. Therefore each PharmaTweet has the potential to be seen by millions of individuals. This does not include streaming twitter feeds or subject searches. Pharma has been sensitive to the fact that social media has a big voice, heard by many. According PharmaManufacturing’s Big Pharma Prefers Tweets to Blogs, ” Big Pharma is tweeting and a growing number of us are listening”.

The above list was compiled by the prominent Pharmaguy, one of many in the fast growing population of Pharmatweeters. Phil Baumann online posted his recent blog “1001 prominent Pharmatweeters to follow”. Join the conversation. New to Twitter? Be a part of this powerful community. Visit twitter and type #FollowPharma, HPLC, your company name or your product in the search box to get started. You’ll be pleasantly surprised.
